What is Semba?

Originating in Angola, Semba is a lively partner dance celebrated for its playful energy and rhythmic expression, emphasizing communication between dancers through movement and music. It's often seen as a precursor to Kizomba, allowing dancers to share joy while dancing together.

Schedule:

• Open Level Semba Workshop: 13:00–14:00
  An inclusive class perfect for beginners and those looking to strengthen their foundations.

• Intermediate Semba Workshop: 14:15–15:15
  Designed for dancers with experience, this workshop deepens musicality and partner connection.

• Akusabo Practica: 15:30–17:30
  A relaxed social dancing space to practice what you've learned, connect with fellow dancers, and enjoy the vibrant community.

Special Guest Teacher: Yves Raymond

We’re thrilled to have Yves Raymond join us! With over a decade of teaching Kizomba and Semba, Yves has competed internationally and founded Akusabo in Gothenburg. His teaching style is deeply grounded in the Angolan roots of these dances and is welcoming to all levels.
