Shinobue Mini Workshop, Mini Concert & Meet-up with Yasukazu Kano

🎋 Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of the Japanese bamboo flute, the Shinobue! Join us for a special evening featuring the esteemed shinobue player Kano Yasukazu (狩野泰一) from Japan, right here in Stockholm. Whether you're interested in exploring Japanese traditional music, trying your hand at the shinobue, or simply enjoying a stunning live performance, all are welcome!

Event Schedule

Part 1: Mini Workshop

🕔 17:00–18:00 – Shinobue Mini Workshop
Get a beginner-friendly introduction to the captivating sounds of the Japanese bamboo flute.
Participation Options:

• 200 SEK – Bring your own shinobue
• 300 SEK – Shinobue rental included (limited to the first 10 participants)
  If rental instruments are fully booked, attendees may acquire their own shinobue at their own expense.

Part 2: Concert & Meet-up

🕧 18:30–20:30 – Mini Concert & Meet-up
Relish an intimate performance by Kano Yasukazu followed by a casual meet-up where you can engage with the artist and connect with fellow enthusiasts of Japanese music and culture.
Participation Fee: 200 SEK

About the Artist & Organizer

Guest Artist: Kano Yasukazu (狩野泰一)
Recognized as one of Japan’s premier shinobue performers, Kano has previously performed with the famous taiko group Kodo and has led workshops globally.

Host & Organizer: Maki Kobayashi (小林麻紀)
An accomplished taiko performer and the founder of Stockholm Taiko, Maki dedicates herself to sharing the joy of Japanese culture through various community initiatives.
