Shoebox Boat Race at Shoal Creek Water Festival

Join us for the Wildcat Glades Kids Shoebox Boat Race! 🛶

📅 Event Highlights:

• People’s Choice Judging: 9:00–10:45 a.m.
• Minnows Race: 11:00 a.m.
• River Runners Race: Noon

Registration:
Ensure you register by Thursday, July 23, 2026. A non-refundable entry fee of $5 is required. You can complete registration online here, or pay at the Nature Store in Shoal Creek Conservation Center after receiving your invoice.

Boat-Building Rules:

• Main boat body must be a cardboard shoebox, no wider than 9 inches.
• Allowed materials: duct tape, water-based one-part paint, Elmer’s White or Wood Glue.
• Not Allowed: wood, metal, plastic, waterproofed cardboard, harmful substances, and various other listed materials.

🔔 Important Note: Boats may still race if they don't follow construction rules, but they won't be eligible for cash prizes. Judges will determine any rule questions and settle ties with a race-off.

• First 50 registrants receive a free bag!
• Cash prizes: $25 for 1st, $15 for 2nd, $10 for 3rd, and $25 for People’s Choice!
