Sound Scribble w Lofty Spot: Atmosphere as Composition
Sound Scribble
A live programme of sound and drawing labs exploring how visual marks, sonic textures, movement, memory, and atmosphere can translate across one another.
Part of the Lofty Spot residency programme, the project is developed by visual artist Kandre Arámide Hassan in collaboration with Meet in the MIDI, who facilitate live sonic translation throughout the sessions.
Session 3: Atmosphere as Composition
Atmosphere as Composition explores how environments, moods, and collective feeling can be built through accumulation and layering. Participants will experiment with line weight, opacity and texture while responding to evolving sonic environments. Sound will shift between minimal and complex textures, distributed spaces, and layered compositions, creating a shared sense of atmosphere. This final session brings together ideas from across the Sound Scribble series to explore how visual and sonic elements combine to shape an environment rather than a single image or sound.
Open to all! No previous experience in art, drawing, or music is required. The sessions are focused on participation, experimentation, and collective making rather than performance or technical skill.
