This workshop will be led by Sara Ramos Pinto, an associate professor in translation studies at the University of Leeds with extensive academic and professional experience. Sara serves as the Vice-President of the European Society for Translation Studies and is involved in numerous initiatives, including:
Her research focuses on how viewers interpret audiovisual content and the essential role subtitling plays in shaping their experiences. Collaborating with industry film professionals, the Enhanced Subtitling practice is a product of an action research project involving the film director Fernando Vendrell and his 2022 work, Sombras Brancas [Clear Shadows].
