🌟 Join us for a vibrant Summer Workshop focused on Authentic Jazz Dance Improvisation with the talented Vassiliki Papadopoulou!
🗓️ In this immersive session, we will build our musical perception around swing music, allowing us to feel part of it and to form improvisational proposals consciously, utilizing the unique 'tools' and stimuli each of us brings to the art form.
🤓 This workshop is suitable for all levels, welcoming those with varying degrees of experience in Authentic Jazz dance.
✨ Improvisation is a foundational element of African American dance and music culture, representing an artistic approach to the moment and a choice shaped by circumstance, all within a rhythmic agreement.
💃 Within the context of swing jazz music, dance improvisation flows through the forms and rhythms that historically shaped Authentic Jazz dance, influenced by styles such as tap dancing, chorus lines, Charleston, and more.
🎶 Swing Jazz improvisation is not the absence of rules; rather, it is a profound understanding of rhythm that allows us to become composers in that very moment. It's about ultimate freedom within the framework of rhythmic harmony.

🌈 About Vassiliki Papadopoulou:
Vassiliki is a co-founder of Hoppers and actively works as a teacher, choreographer, DJ, and artistic curator at the school. Since 2016, she has been teaching Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz professionally at festivals and workshops worldwide.
🔥 Her inspiration stems from the music of that era, with elements of rhythm, personal expression, and freedom fueling her creativity and driving her to explore new ways to evolve as an artist.
❤️ Throughout her journey as a dancer and teacher, her goal is to deepen her understanding and appreciation for this African American art form with respect and responsibility. Most importantly, she loves social dancing and encourages all dancers to feel the music and express themselves freely!

We created Hoppers to spread the joy of African American Jazz dances – Authentic Jazz Dance and Lindy Hop – in Greece and internationally.
