Join us for an impactful performance of The 7 Stages of Grieving, a powerful production by the Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, written by Wesley Enoch and Deborah Mailman. This profound one-woman show explores crucial aspects of Aboriginal history through seven distinct phases: Dreaming, Invasion, Genocide, Protection, Assimilation, Self-Determination, and Reconciliation.
Over a gripping hour, the narrator leads us through a blend of cultural knowledge, personal stories, and collective memories, illuminating the themes of resilience, loss, and the fight for identity. Originally premiered in 1995, this play revolutionized Aboriginal theatre and now returns with a fresh production, highlighting its relevancy three decades later.
