🇿🇦 IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN, CHOMMIES! 🇿🇦
The biggest South African jol of the year is BACK — and you know it’s going to be lekker! Every year, we take over Rheinpark Golzheim for a full day of braai smoke, good vibes, too many dops, loads of laughs, and all the home food we’ve been missing. Think massive shared tables, kids running wild, dogs living their best lives, and a whole lot of “ag shame” and “eish” floating through the air! 😄
📍 Venue:
Rheinpark Golzheim, Düsseldorf
You won’t miss us — just look for the BIG South African flag, the smell of braai fires, and a crowd that sounds like a Joburg taxi rank on a Friday afternoon.
🍖 WHAT TO BRING:
This is a family-friendly, bring-and-share jol, so please bring something lekker for the communal table:
- SA treats
- Salads / sides
- Baked goods / puddings
- Snacks from home

🥩 Bring Your Own:
- Vleis
- Dops
- Chairs / blankets
There’s an Edeka nearby if you run out of ice or make rookie planning mistakes! 😜
🎶 MUSIC VIBES:
No DJ this year — but we’ll have a big speaker and a shared Spotify playlist where everyone can add their favourite tunes. So expect everything from:
- Kurt Darren to Amapiano
- Bok van Blerk to old school house
- Maybe even a sneaky sokkie moment!

🌧️ WEATHER PLAN:
For the past 5 years, we’ve dodged the rain like pros! If it does rain — we just do what Germans say:
"There’s no bad weather, only bad clothes.” If you’ve got gazebos or umbrellas, bring them along just in case.
🌭 FOOD FOR SALE:
Bring some cash — Christy Mathie will be selling boerewors rolls (€5) and other homemade goodies.
