Join us for an impactful evening at the Global Rise: Stories for the Future and Climate Film Festival! This second summer gathering invites you to explore new narratives that spark conversations around urban heat equity in New York City.

🔍 What to Expect:

• Panel Discussion: Engage with experts like Dr. Anamika Shreevastava from NYU Tandon, who investigates the uneven emergence of extreme heat in city neighborhoods, and Dr. Medhi Heris from Hunter College, leading the Urban Heat Mitigation Portal project.
• Collaborative Storytelling Workshop: Bring your creativity! Whether you're refining a piece or starting something new, participate in a space designed for collaboration and imaginative storytelling.
• Network with fellow writers, filmmakers, and climate-conscious creatives.

🌡️ Why It Matters: The heat crisis is escalating, and cities need targeted strategies to combat this pressing issue. Extreme heat poses the deadliest weather-related risk in the U.S., outpacing hazards like hurricanes and floods. Join us to craft solutions through storytelling!

✍️ Calling All Storytellers: We're looking to elevate narratives that shed light on climate justice in NYC. Submit a story proposal (around 500 words) in any medium by July 3, 2026. Selected stories will be developed and showcased at the Climate Film Festival this September.
