The Matanuska Mile

Lace up your fastest running shoes and join us for the first annual Matanuska Mile this summer! 🌞

Where: Palmer High School Track
When: July 23, 2026, at 6:00 PM
Registration: Only $10 to participate, with proceeds benefiting the Palmer XC Running teams.

This race is a full mile (1609 meters) — just over four laps around the track, and it will be hand-timed! ⏱️

At 5:45 PM, participants will be arranged into heats based on their pace (slower runners first, faster runners last), with a maximum of four heats. The first heat kicks off at 6 PM, followed by additional heats every 15 minutes.

Registration can be completed online at RunSignUp. Note: Online registration closes at noon on July 23, but in-person registration is available starting at 5:00 PM.
