Om arrangementet

Organizer’s text:

This original play explores the phenomenon of “shamans” on social media. Toni Wolff (1888–1953), a pioneer of women’s psychoanalysis and a colleague and lover of Gustav Jung, returns to the present day. She observes a new reality in which mental balance is for sale. SHE. They. Suddenly, the world (of Instagram) is full of them. They are here for us to help us find our lost femininity, guide us, empower us, “heal” us. Eye-catching photos, alluring words, beads, vaginal eggs, webinars, seminars…
“If charlatans are making this much money here, how much are female scientists earning?” asks a surprised Toni Wolff. A close collaborator of Carl Gustav Jung and the author of Archetypes of Women brings her insights to the present day and is shocked by the number of “conspiracy spiritualists” who, especially on social media, exploit women’s naivety and vulnerability—as well as her teachings. This production by the acclaimed group Uhol_92 is a critical analysis of the current trend of “transformational mentors,” gurus, and—above all—fraudsters who have literally flooded the internet.” – Soňa Jánošová for SME

As part of its research into social and personal vulnerability, Uhol_92 focused on the topic of “conspiritualism.” The production Toni Wolff Finds Out She’s Made Millions won the DOSKY Award in the Best Costume category and the Tatra Bank Foundation Award for script and direction, and was featured at several festivals in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
After three years of performances, the time has come for the final performance. The last showing of the production will be a special version in which all the performers will come together for the first and last time. The final performance will combine both interpretations: Carl (with Jakub Jablonský) and Emma (with Peter Tilajčík). The two separate productions will come together in a single evening, in a one-time final performance.
