Tropik Talks: A SEA Speaker Series with Kittybug Press & Developh (Chia Amisola)

Tropics, as a geographical term, derives from a suffix meaning “to turn.” Tropik Talks is a Southeast Asian speaker series that invites creatives from the region to reorient dominant narratives and challenge inherited perspectives.

Our first session’s a full Filipino lineup with Kittybug Press and Chia Amisola of Developh.
🌸🌐Chia Amisola will share their work directing Developh, a research & arts institution for critical technologies in the Philippines. Developh's recent projects include KAKAKOMPYUTER MO YAN, an anthology of third world net art, and new works about land, sovereignty, and labor.
🐱🐛Kittybug Press will be shedding light on Filipino press history and sharing interviews they did with the local Risograph copy shops. Copies of their recent publication “Filipino Risograph Duplicate Archive”, amongst other works will be available to purchase during the event.
