WALK + IMAGINE + CREATE + PROJECT INTERRUPT

FLOAT + REGEN GIPPSLAND are excited to announce a collaborative project aimed at empowering young people (ages 15-25) to brainstorm creative ideas for enhancing Gippsland's tracks and trails! Our goal is to inspire everyone to spend more time outdoors, engaging with the community and meeting new friends. 🌳

In a world dominated by AI, screen time, and shrinking career options, it's vital to connect with nature, think creatively, and cultivate a sense of belonging in our community.

Here's what to expect throughout the week:

• Monday: 🎥 Join us at the GLaWAC Forestec in Kalimna for an 'Imagine' film screening with guest Jack Manning-Bancroft from AIME. This will be followed by a design session to spark our creativity!

• Tuesday: 🚶‍♂️🖌️ Participate in 'Walk + Imagine + Create'! We'll stroll from the Slipway Sheds in Lakes Entrance to Bullock Island, exploring Gippsland’s beautiful trails while connecting with nature and community. We’ll also address the crab net issue with local scuba divers and create art and music installations from the found debris with Nele Jungenkruger, Sasha Kruse, and Sam McLennan from Project Interrupt. Expect a performance too! 🌊🎶

• Wednesday: 🛠️ Join a youth-led co-design workshop aimed at envisioning and prototyping innovative solutions for the trail, emphasizing First Nation wisdom, nature, and collaboration alongside Project Interrupt.

• Thursday: 🎨 Another day for creativity! Dive deeper into arts, music, or any projects you're passionate about.

We’re thrilled to collaborate with founding member Andrea, the FLOAT community, and talented local artists including Samuel McLennan, Jack Bancroft-Manning, Amy Allender from FLOAT CAAMP, and Ella Simons from the Future Council. This is our chance for collaboration to shine in the most creative ways possible! 🎉🙌🏼
