Wesley Hanna, an independent country singer-songwriter based in Fort Worth, Texas, has a compelling story to tell. From his days as a roughneck and oilfield engineer to the dazzling cowboy hat he wears as a showman and barroom poet, Wesley intertwines his diverse experiences into his music.
With a honky-tonk repertoire, his band—comprising Stacie Hanna (upright bass), Michael Durkan (fiddle), and Lance Will (drums)—has become a favorite in Texas dancehalls. Their music blends neo-traditional country, Western Swing, and a touch of Texas swagger, paying homage to the rich roots of their home state.
Wesley began his musical journey in Magnolia, Texas, receiving a guitar for his 17th birthday. At Texas A&M University, he founded the Wesley Hanna Band, which released the album Born to Honky Tonk in 2007. After a brief hiatus to focus on engineering, Wesley reignited his passion in 2022 with his solo album Brand New Love Potion, praised for its authentic country sound.
His new album, Magnolia, released in 2025, includes heartfelt tracks like “Gulf Prairie Blues” and the duet “Life in Three Quarter Time” with Courtney Patton. 🌵🎤
