🖼️ ID Gallery is excited to present the solo exhibition "Which Side Are You On?" by Artemis Potamianou.
Join us for an immersive experience that delves into the complex social conditions surrounding women's roles and identities. This exhibition transforms the gallery into a thought-provoking space, featuring a site-specific installation of intricate birdcages filled with representative objects such as toys, clocks, and identity cards—symbols of societal expectations that women face.
✨ Amidst a hand-crafted wallpaper adorned with classical floral motifs and hidden eyes, the installation prompts viewers to confront themes of surveillance and control. Potamianou’s work reinterprets the artistic motif of liberation, exploring the duality of the cage as both a shelter and a prison.
🎥 Accompanying the installation, experience the video work "Art Scene – Art Seen", a two-channel projection that juxtaposes insights from well-known artists with cinematic portrayals of their creative lives. This insightful commentary on the pursuit of recognition and the myths of artistic identity blurs the line between reality and representation.
💬 The exhibition invites you to ponder: "Which side are you on?"
