🖤 About the Exhibition

Your Presence Against Mine is a bittersweet investigation into physical touch — a space where tenderness simultaneously embodies both intimacy and harm. Building upon Hold Me Close, a work originally developed in collaboration with Ginevra M. Demartis, this project examines how the human body absorbs and internalises experience far beyond conscious intention, positioning trauma as something shaped by impact rather than desire.

The work moves fluidly through themes of queer sexualisation, bodily autonomy, resistance, and trans/posthuman identities, drawing a compelling parallel between transgender bodies and reptilian forms — creatures defined by shedding, adapting, and surviving.

🎨 About the Artist

Karo Zacharski (b. 1998, Poland) is a Bergen-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans sound, 3D, sculpture, and installation. His work investigates identity, trans experience, and transhumanism through sensory and interdisciplinary projects that interweave technology with intimate, body-centred narratives — reflecting themes of vulnerability, resilience, and personal transformation.
