Om evenemanget

Join us for an engaging Q&A with acclaimed director Clement Virgo! 🎤 Moderated by film curator Fadume Gure, this event is part of the Bleak Week: Cinema of Despair festival, which presents an extraordinary collection of films that delve into the darker facets of humanity. 🌍

This year's festival, expanding to nearly 100 theaters across the U.S., Canada, U.K., as well as South and Central America, showcases an array of uncompromising films that reveal harsh truths and evoke deep empathy.

Clement Virgo’s groundbreaking debut feature, RUDE, tells the poignant stories of three individuals grappling with their own demons in Toronto's inner city:

  • General (Wint): A drug dealer turned artist returning home from prison to confront his estranged family.
  • Jordan (Chevolleau): A promising boxer involved in gay-bashing, struggling with his sexual identity.
  • Maxine (Crawford): Facing the end of her relationship after deciding to terminate a pregnancy.

These narratives intertwine through Rude (Lewis), a pirate radio DJ whose impactful commentary resonates within the community.

Don't miss this opportunity to engage with powerful storytelling and raw emotion!
