Jolene Invites with ATEQ (DE), Amiraku

Om evenemanget

Two artists, one dancefloor, a shared language built on patience and pressure. This is Jolene Invites — a format that trusts the music to do the talking and the room to do the rest.

The thread running through this night is restraint as a tool. Not sparse for the sake of it, but music that builds slowly, holds tension in the loop, and releases it through the groove rather than the drop.

ATEQ brings that sensibility from Berlin and Weimar via one of electronic music's most distinctive collectives. Amiraku brings it from a different route — Casablanca to Denmark, through the dusty shelves of record stores and the archive of 90s rave culture — arriving at his own synthesis that moves between acid, minimal, and the harder edges of techno.

Florian Lepa has been releasing music as ATEQ on Giegling since the collective's early Weimar years, and those releases remain the clearest map of his sound: rolling, melancholic, deeply functional. His loops don't announce themselves — they accumulate, fold back on themselves, and quietly take hold of the room. His work spans DJ sets and live performance, including a recent collaboration with percussionist Samuel Rohrer that pushed into avant-garde jazz and ambient territory, suggesting a musical curiosity that runs well beyond the obvious. At home in Berlin, he holds a residency with Heideglühen; internationally, he has developed a close bond with Tbilisi's Bassiani. What he brings to Jolene is a set rooted in that Giegling minimalism — house and techno held together by mood and movement, never in a hurry.

Amiraku is a Copenhagen-based DJ whose ear was shaped by two things that rarely get to meet: the percussive, rhythmically complex music culture of Morocco where he grew up, and the UK, Detroit, and Berlin lineage he discovered after arriving in Europe. His sets move across acid, minimal, and tech-house, drawing from 90s rave archives as readily as from the Martinez-school minimal universe he cites as a core influence. There's an inherent eclecticism in how he approaches a set — not genre-hopping, but genuinely genre-fluent — and it makes for a warm-up that doesn't feel like a warm-up.

Together, these two trace a path from the considered to the insistent. Early hours carry depth and a certain inwardness — the kind of music you lean into before your body catches up. By the time the night finds its stride, the dancefloor has been given something to hold onto. Jolene's room, close and unhurried, is exactly where that joruney makes sense.
