S.E.T. Two Day Open Water Swim Clinic

🏊 Calling all triathletes! If you're preparing for the Eagleman race or gearing up for an early summer tri, this two-day Open Water Swim Clinic hosted by S.E.T. is not to be missed! Dive into the exclusive coaching sessions that will elevate your open water skills like never before. This clinic is tailored for all levels, perfect for those completing their first open water event or anyone seeking to sharpen their swim performance!

⚠️ Please Note: This is NOT a learn-to-swim clinic. Athletes must be capable of swimming at least 300m continuously in a long course pool.

🗓️ Schedule

• Day 1 — Saturday
  📍 UMBC Retriever Aquatics Center
  🕕 6–8 PM

  • Dryland instruction and pool drills
  • Optional video capture (additional fee)

• Day 2 — Sunday
  📍 Gunpowder Falls State Park, Hammerman Area
  🕘 9–11 AM

  • Kayak-supported open water instruction
  • Drills & race-preparation practice
  • (Separate park entry fee)

💼 Meet Your Coaching Team

• Coach Adam Rutz — USA Swimming certified, UMBC Aquatics Director & RAC Senior Coach, collegiate swimmer, and Ironman. (Clinic lead)
• UMBC Retrievers D1 Assistant Coach — Provides collegiate-level technical instruction in the pool.
• Coach Henry Shoemaker — USAT Level 2 Certified. A coach for the USA Triathlon High Performance Team and a two-time Paralympic Training Camp Coach.
• Camille Shoemaker — Former USAT Youth & Junior Draft Legal National Champion Qualifier and current NCAA Division 1 swimmer. (Clinic support)
