Skety

Skety will perform at the Jazz Dock.

Skety is a six-member vocal ensemble that has been active on the domestic and international scene since 2014, when its members won the jazz section at the international festival Vocal.total in Graz, Germany. They have released their debut CD Skety, which was nominated in four categories at the CARA (Contemporary A cappella Recording Awards) genre awards. They claim a legacy of jazz a cappella ensembles, but like to push those boundaries often. In doing so, they create a distinctive sound and style. In addition to their interpretations of borrowed compositions, they also focus on distinctive original works, especially those by composer Petr Wajsar. Their music brings to mind the legendary vocal ensembles Singers Unlimited or Manhattan Transfer, or the contemporary band Pentatonix, although Skety follow their own original path.
