What is Disc Golf?
It’s a fun twist on traditional golf, played with a frisbee in a park setting. You’ll throw from designated starting points, aiming for a metal basket, all while trying to complete the course in the fewest throws. Each hole presents a new challenge, and a complete round consists of 18 holes, taking about 2 hours. Enjoy the outdoors and get hooked on this exciting game!

THE COURSE
This exclusive 18-hole layout winds through the moat of Fort Jay and the scenic grounds of Governors Island, providing unobstructed views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines – a truly unique experience that will vanish after today.

🤝 Open to all! Play with a partner—every throw gives you two chances! No experience necessary. Just show up, grab a disc, meet new friends, and throw!
🔄 Don’t have a disc? Borrow one for free! No partner? We’ll pair you up!
🌟 Want to take home a disc? We’ll have Populace discs available for purchase, or if you bring 3 friends, your group gets one free (while supplies last).

MAKE A DAY OF IT!
Governors Island is a fantastic destination on its own. Bring friends, a blanket, and enjoy food available on the island. The ferry runs all day, allowing you to stay as long as you like!

This event is also a fundraiser for the NYC Disc Golf Association (NYCDGA), a Brooklyn-based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to disc golf and green spaces for New Yorkers, especially targeting youth and underserved communities in all five boroughs.
