During Tea for Glissant, you will witness Sulova's exploration of the act of pouring tea through intricately layered metal strainers. Each layer removes residue, slowing down the flow, and transforming this process into a powerful metaphor for erasure and cleansing. As stubborn tea leaves and misfits become trapped within the filters, we delve into the tension between visibility and compliance, referencing Martinican poet and philosopher Édouard Glissant's concepts of opacity and self-representation.

🎨 Aida Sulova, a Kyrgyzstan-born, New York-based artist and educator, intricately weaves together materials such as wool, metal, and wood to explore themes of care, repair, and the interconnections between humans and animals.
