2026 Alaska Distance Classic

Join us for the Alaska Distance Classic and choose to run or walk the 5k, 10k, or take on the Double-Up challenge! 🏅 Double-Up finishers will receive a special finisher medal. This fun event supports Special Olympics Alaska, and every participant can look forward to root beer floats waiting for you at the finish line! 🍺

The race kicks off at Alaska Pacific University and meanders through the picturesque woods surrounding the University of Alaska and APU campuses. If you're Doubling Up, be sure to finish the 5K within 45 minutes to make it to the 10K start line on time!

In line with previous years, we aim to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Alaska. In 2024, our event raised $3,000 — thank YOU for being part of this amazing initiative and helping us support this vital community organization! 🌟

Participants will receive a commemorative event shirt and can enjoy local Motley Moo Creamery ice cream alongside Broken Tooth root beer as you celebrate with friends! 🍦🎉
