Billy is celebrated for his insightful works that depict Southern life and culture, such as Seasons in Beulah Land and Sometimes the Bologna Was Fried. In addition to contributing articles to the Tallahassee Democrat, he dedicated 18 years as the editor of the Havana Herald, earning multiple accolades for his writing.

An accomplished musician, Billy also spends his time as a horse and donkey farrier. His past includes working on the line crew of the Apalachicola Northern Railroad, where he collected a treasure trove of unforgettable stories. 😄
