Art + Science: Cotton Duck Canvas

O události

Have you ever been curious about the secrets behind our conservation labs? 🤔 Join a member of the Straus Center staff for an engaging conversation about their work in preserving invaluable objects from our collections!

📍 This informal gathering takes place just outside the Straus Center in the Lightbox Gallery. You'll have the chance to get up close and hands-on with a variety of tools and materials used by our conservation experts.

🌟 In this session, associate paintings conservator Ellen Davis will share insights on the fascinating use of cotton duck canvas. With the Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies being a global leader in fine arts conservation, research, and training, it’s a unique opportunity to learn how conservation science intersects with curatorial practice to enhance the care for around 250,000 objects in the Harvard Art Museums collections.

🏛️ Check in with museum staff at the Visitor Services desk in the Calderwood Courtyard to join this program. Be mindful that spaces are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis; no registration is required.
