Art & Tech at SFMOMA

Art and technology have historically intertwined, each inspiring and challenging the other. This engaging session invites artists and technologists to envision a future where this dynamic relationship thrives, navigating the hurdles of realizing that vision.

About the Event:

The Future of Us marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. with a celebration of community visions, creative expression, and civic engagement.
Art& is a three-day experience at SFMOMA, delving into the crucial role that art and imagination play in shaping our collective futures. Each day pairs a Future of Us theme with thought-provoking questions about the intersection of art, science, technology, nature, and civic life. Expect multimedia shows that synergize live performances, community representations, and conceptual dialogues, alongside interactive experiences and a pop-up booth from the Institute for the Future.

What to Expect:

• Activations: Experience rotating creative activations in the Koret Education Center led by our talented partners and fellows. Capture your future self at the Future Photobooth and engage with the time capsule project organized by Sincerely, San Francisco.
• Creative Performance: Enjoy music, poetry, and dance that transform our stage into a vibrant storytelling space.
• Speakers & Visions: Panels and visual presentations that highlight diverse ideas and possibilities that shape our future.
• Reception: Disconnect from the formalities and mingle with fellow participants over drinks and light refreshments.

This is the first of two back-to-back sessions. We encourage attendance at both, but please register separately for planning purposes. Stay tuned for the full lineup!

Launching on America's 250th anniversary, the inaugural Future of Us festival spans 10 days filled with civic imagination and exploration. With a lineup of 100+ events curated by artists, scientists, and storytellers, participants are encouraged to co-imagine a more creative civic culture. Themes include Green Futures, Social Futures, Science & Tech Futures, and Media Futures.
