Artist Alley Gallery Opening: Leslie & Caroline Xia

Join us at Welcome to Chinatown for a captivating exploration of roots and identity through the lens of Caroline and Leslie Xia. This exhibit, featuring the evocative multimedia project From Wenzhou, is an intimate portrayal of lineage, grief, and belonging, inspired by their journey back to their ancestral home. 🏠❤️

The sisters' work documents a return to Wenzhou, China, after nearly two decades, following the passing of their beloved grandmother. Through seven stunning photographs and a poignant video installation showcasing archival VHS footage from their family, attendees will witness a blend of personal history and cultural heritage. 📸 🎥

Enjoy a DJ set by Swaptank and bastoos as you soak in the art. Refreshments will be provided by Moshi, Makku, and Dirty Water. 🥤🎶
