
Beacon Reservoir Hike
We'll wind through shady forest trails to a scenic reservoir surrounded by rolling hills and quiet woodlands. After the hike, you're welcome to grab food/a drink in town or explore Beacon before heading back to NYC.
Beacon Reservoir via the Fishkill Ridge Trail (White)
Day of Itinerary:
10:30am: Meet at Grand Central Terminal to catch the 10:56am Metro-North train toward Poughkeepsie (Hudson line).
12:28pm: Arrive at Beacon Station. We will then walk 15 minutes into the town of Beacon to stop for coffees, snacks, sandwiches, etc.
2:00pm – 2:15pm: Take a short Uber/rideshare to the trailhead.
2:30pm: Hike Beacon Reservoir. The total time is about 2-2.5 hours with a snack break by the water.
5:00pm: After the hike, feel free to grab food/a drink at one of Beacon's local spots such as Hudson Valley Brewery or spend some time exploring Main Street before heading home.
5pm onward: Trains depart every hour back to Grand Central, so feel free to take whichever train you'd like!
