Botanical walks - Eastern side of Blaauwberg Reserve

Join the Friends of Blaauwberg Conservation Area (FoBCA) for six brand new guided botanical walks along the Renosterveld Trail, located on the eastern slopes of Blaauwberg Hill! 🌄 Experience the beauty of the Critically Endangered Swartland Shale Renosterveld, the richest veld type in bulb species.

Over these six walks, witness the trail come alive in color! 🎨

• Distance: Approximately 2km uphill, generally easy, with one short sandy section and two steep slopes.
• Elevation Gain: 100 m.
• Enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree view from the top!
• The return walk is along the historic Military Road. Duration from gate-to-gate is about 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Please note: Access logistics require that the group enters and exits the site together. Leaving early once inside is not permitted.

• Cost: Free for FoBCA members; R50 per participant (children under 18 are free).
