About Marc Zimer
Marc Zimer is a physics teacher, international exchange coordinator, and project leader at Lënster Lycée International School in Junglinster, Luxembourg. He has developed a broad network of educational partnerships between schools, universities, heritage organizations, and communities in Luxembourg and the United States, particularly in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
Marc serves as Vice President of Roots and Leaves, a Luxembourg nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening cultural, educational, historical, and personal connections between Luxembourg and Luxembourg-American communities. He is also the Rotary Youth Exchange Officer for the Rotary Clubs of Echternach and Moselle.
His work includes organizing student exchanges, university collaborations, heritage tours, genealogy projects, sister-city initiatives, and cultural events. He has closely collaborated with communities such as Winona, Rollingstone, New Ulm, La Crosse, and other areas with strong Luxembourg heritage.
Marc believes that the historic relationship between Luxembourg and the American Midwest should not only be preserved but renewed through personal encounters, education, youth exchanges, and new community partnerships. His goal is to help younger generations discover their shared heritage and to build lasting bridges between Luxembourg and the United States. 🇱🇺🤝🇺🇸
