From Sacred to Secular

Join us for a captivating concert by the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain! Under the expert guidance of Dan Ludford-Thomas (conductor) and Phil Mitchell (assistant conductor and pianist), this performance will beautifully blend sacred choral traditions with secular, lyrical, and rhythmic music.

✨ The evening starts with the radiant polyphony of Josquin des Prez and Francisco Guerrero, leading into works by modern composers such as Heinrich Schütz, Déodat de Séverac, Cecilia McDowall, and Sarah Quartel.

✨ As we transition into the second half, prepare to be enchanted by contemporary choral writing mixed with folk-inspired melodies and popular styles! You'll hear pieces from Andrea Ramsey, Jón Leifs, Kim André Arnesen, Carl Rütti, Anders Edenroth, as well as freshly arranged music by Laura Mvula and The Supermen Lovers.
