👾 About Maria Cornelius

Maria Cornelius is a seasoned product and game development leader with a career spanning some of the most influential names in gaming and tech. She served as Chief Product Officer at Arrowhead Game Studios, where over four years she played a central role in shaping and launching Helldivers 2 — and sustaining its remarkable momentum after release.

Prior to Arrowhead, Maria brought her expertise to Spotify, leading cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, and product managers. Before that, at Paradox Interactive, she oversaw greenlight processes, evaluated game pitches, and built a sharp, publisher-side perspective on what makes projects truly stand out and resonate with players.

She began her professional journey running a branding consultancy for startups.

Maria has recently departed Arrowhead to found The Ledger & the Loom, through which she advises and mentors game teams on product strategy and positioning — while also preparing to launch a small indie studio in Stockholm. She's visiting gaminghub for one day only on 18th May! 🗓️
