Hi everyone! I’m Barbara Portto—fashion designer, creative director, and a devotee of sustainable fashion. I’m launching a new passion project, and I want you to be part of the very first edition.
Welcome to the exclusive launch of GOD SAVE THE SHOES: a limited-capacity workshop where we fight footwear waste and unlock your inner designer.
The Concept
Bring that pair of heels, mules, flats, or sandals you were ready to toss out. Instead of letting them contribute to "landfill guilt," we’ll spend an afternoon giving them a high-end, custom makeover. No more settling for store-bought designs—it’s time for something truly one-of-a-kind.
The Experience
The Space: A beautiful, curated setting in East Williamsburg.
The Tools: I’ll provide premium materials and professional tools. This edition features an incredible variety of fabrics and leather scraps in diverse colors and textures.
The Process: We’ll start at the "Shoe Template," where you can sketch your vision before or after exploring our material library. You’ll have the freedom to cut fabric into custom shapes and play with textures to build your look using our signature "Collage with Fabric" technique.
The Vibe: Creative therapy, design inspiration, and great conversation with a small group of like-minded women. You’ll have three hours to fully immerse yourself in the creative flow.
The Transformation: The "Before & After" is the most exciting part! You’ll walk away with a pair of shoes that tells a story—your story.
The Details
Bring: One pair of shoes and your imagination. You don't need to have a pair of shoes sitting in your closet to join our workshop. You can just hit up a thrift or vintage store, grab a pair, and give them an amazing makeover! Our vision is all about repurposing materials and shoes to give them a second life.
Mindful Creating: To stay in the creative zone, we encourage limited phone use. Our team will be there to capture the process and your amazing results for social media and promotional purposes.

Cancellation Policy
Because our spots are limited, tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for future dates. Please make sure the date works for you before signing up! If you find yourself unable to make it, feel free to pass your ticket along to a friend who can enjoy the experience in your place.
