Guided Kayak Tour (Batavia-Aurora $99/person)

Join us for a guided morning kayak tour along the beautiful, tree-lined Fox River! 🚣‍♂️ This adventure takes you to fantastic local spots like the Cave of the Spirit at Red Oak Nature Center and the bald eagle’s nest near Mooseheart School. The journey wraps up at Harner’s Bakery, where you can treat yourself to one of their famous donuts! 🍩

As you paddle, enjoy close encounters with local wildlife including bald eagles, osprey, deer, beaver, muskrat, great blue heron, egret, and kingfisher. This tour is perfect for all skill levels and features a simple portage around a dam in North Aurora.

Participants will start at Aurora Athletic Club, where you’ll park your cars and be shuttled to Glenwood Park Forest Preserve to get started. We’ll provide instruction on:

• How to kayak in a straight line
• Steering
• Stopping
• Staying upright and comfortable

After the dryland instruction, our guide will help you launch your kayak into the water. 🌳

Who can join? Participants must be 15 years of age and weigh at least 100 lbs.
