Hands On AR Workshop: Geographically Anchored Augmented Reality (Seattle Tech Week Event)
Turn the physical world into your digital playground! 🎮 In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn to build robust, world-anchored Augmented Reality (AR) experiences using Google Geospatial Creator and Unity. Powered by ARCore and the Google Maps Platform, this toolkit allows for deploying immersive 3D content to precise geographical coordinates using Photorealistic 3D Tiles, with little to no coding required.
Whether you're a seasoned developer or a creative enthusiast, you'll acquire practical skills to visualize, build, and launch AR projects that are seamlessly mapped to the real world. Join us to reshape how we experience our cities!
End Result: You'll build and export a live Android APK, ready to install on your phone and share. 📱
Bonus: An overview of the roadmap to publish on the Google Play Store and deploy to iOS will be provided, although those builds won't be completed during the session.
Tech Requirements:
For the best experience, please bring a laptop with Unity 2022.2.16 installed. While newer versions may work, they have not been tested for this specific workshop.
