Born in the Bronx in 1968, Bell is renowned for his mastery of over 1,000 percussion instruments and has been a part of more than 150 recordings since 1989.

Having toured with legends like Roberta Flack and Erykah Badu, and credited on Grammy-nominated albums by Jazzmeia Horn and Don Braden, Kahlil has truly made a name for himself in the jazz world. He is especially celebrated for his unique expertise with the slappaphone, a nine-pitched tubular melodic instrument that he has adeptly made his own.
