Heywood 1940s Day 2026

Join us for the unforgettable Heywood 1940's Day, returning for its final year, hosted by the Heywood Business Group! This fun-filled event is set to delight visitors of all ages.

🌟 Event Highlights:

• Military & Vintage Vehicles: Witness an impressive array of military and vintage vehicles, including full-size replicas of the Hurricane and Spitfire at the Hill Street carpark from 10 AM.
• Weapons Display: Don’t miss the return of the Yanks with their captivating weapons display showcasing how to keep the enemy at bay.
• Dapper Tunes: Enjoy the sound of vinyl from Dapper Dan DJ, spinning fabulous tunes from 11 AM to 4 PM.
• Parade & Evacuation: Wave goodbye to the Evacuees as they embark on their journey by Vintage bus from the Memorial Gardens at noon. They will later join the Armed Forces Parade at 1 PM, followed by the Annual Street Party at 2 PM!
• Food & Fun: Savor tasty treats from Granelli’s Ice-Cream van, Smokey’s BBQ, and enjoy performances by Blackley Brass band.
• Community Concert: Dive into the 1940s Day Concert featuring amazing acts like The Big Swinging Thing, Heykids, and more starting at 12:15 PM.
• Street Party: Enjoy sandwiches, cake, and arts & crafts with the Evacuees from 2 PM!
• Live Talent: Check out the Heywood Magic Market showcasing local talent throughout the day.
• Funfair Rides: Thrilling rides for the bigger kids at the funfair!
• Don’t forget to visit the Air Raid shelters and enjoy music from A-Train Swings and Wingtip Windy DJ outside.
• Closing Ceremony: Watch the military vehicles parade around town at 4:30 PM before the event culminates at 5 PM.
