Ho‘onanea: A Vintage Experience at Hānaiakamalama
🌺 Ho‘onanea: to pass the time in ease, peace, and pleasure; to relax, lounge, repose... absorbed, contented.
Join us for a truly unique and immersive tour at one of Honolulu’s most cherished historic homes, the Queen Emma Summer Palace, a timeless icon of Hawaiian elegance.
🕘 Arrive at 9 AM to select a vintage muʻumuʻu from our expansive collection, graciously provided by Muʻumuʻu Library.
🌸 Next, learn the art of creating a fresh floral hairpiece with the guidance of Kumu Kuhi. Craft your own lei po’o to perfectly complement your beautiful ensemble.
🏰 After your transformation, step back in time with a docent-led tour of the Palace, where you will uncover the rich history of Queen Emma and her royal family.
🥗 Conclude your experience with a delightful light picnic lunch amidst the lush tropical gardens, either on the terrace or at the nearby park. Feel free to bring your own table-setting complete with linens and china, though tables and chairs are limited.
📅 Plan for a lovely day from 9 AM to 2 PM. The morning program is co-sponsored by the Daughters of Hawaiʻi and Queen Emma Summer Palace, in partnership with Kumu Kuhi and Muʻumuʻu Library. Lunch will be provided from noon to 2 PM.
