Inwood Canoe Club’s Sunday Open House

Join us at the Inwood Canoe Club for our exciting Sunday Open House sessions this summer! Enjoy free, guided 20-minute kayak trips along the Hudson River, just north of the scenic George Washington Bridge.

🌟 Event Highlights:

• Free guided kayaking experiences on Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
• Complete your 2025 Season Waiver before joining us: Complete Waiver.
• Note: We will not host Open House on Sunday, July 13. Instead, join us the day before on Saturday, July 12 for City of Water Day! More Details.

📝 How It Works:

• Sign Up in person starting at 9 a.m. for three guided "waves" on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to return to the boathouse on time to secure your spot!
• Choose to paddle solo or with a friend in a tandem kayak (availability permitting). Experience isn't necessary!

🕒 Wave Schedule:

• Wave 1: Arrive 9:45 a.m., launch at 10 a.m.
• Wave 2: Arrive 10:30 a.m., launch at 10:45 a.m.
• Wave 3: Arrive 11:15 a.m., launch at 11:30 a.m.

🛶 What to Expect:

• Kayak on one of our 12 sit-on-top kayaks or in a tandem kayak designed for two.
• Join family, friends, or make new acquaintances in our “canoemaran,” which comfortably holds up to six guests plus two ICC “Turtles” (members).

📌 Important Details:

• All guests must be able to swim and must be at least 8 years old. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Whether a minor can paddle depends on daily conditions and the discretion of the club member overseeing the Open House.
• We provide the boat, paddle, and personal flotation device (life vest). No prior paddling experience is needed!
• Wear shoes and clothing that can get wet.
• Keep valuables to a minimum; store them at the boathouse or bring a waterproof bag. ICC is not responsible for any lost valuables.
• No pets are allowed during the Open House.

Since our Open House began in 2002, we’ve proudly offered the only walk-up kayaking program in Northern Manhattan, serving over 1,000 guests each summer!
