Jochberg Alpine Hike [Easy to Medium, Ages: 23-35]

🥾 The Quest
Join us for an exhilarating adventure in the Bavarian Alps! After a fantastic meetup at the park-and-bar, it's time for our next challenge: hiking Jochberg (1,565m, Elevation Gain: 715 m), one of the most beautiful intermediate hikes near Munich. We'll be treated to stunning panoramic views of the turquoise Walchensee on one side and Kochelsee on the other. No technical climbing needed, but a basic level of fitness is desired for this steady uphill walk through the forest.

This event emphasizes pacing ourselves, sticking together as a group, and cherishing the journey to the summit.

⏱️ The Journey Timeline

• 08:30: Meet at Munich Hauptbahnhof in front of the storage lockers.
• 09:00: Depart on Regional train RB66 (59611) towards Kochel, combined with a short bus ride to the trailhead.
• 10:30: Our ascent begins! We'll hike leisurely through the forest.
• 12:30: Arrive at the summit for a massive group lunch break, photos, and breathtaking alpine views.
• 13:30: Descend past the Jocheralm (traditional mountain hut) for drinks and snacks.
• 16:30: Reach the shores of Walchensee. If it’s warm, pack a swimsuit for a refreshing dip before heading back to Munich.
• 18:02 or 19:02: Bus then train back to Munich.

Timeline adjustments may be made based on the group's pace and energy.

🎒 Your Backpack Inventory (What to Bring)
Make sure to pack the following for a safe and enjoyable hike:

• Sturdy Footwear: Comfortable shoes, preferably hiking boots.
• Water & Lunch: At least 1-2L of water, plus packed food/snacks for energy.
• Cash (Important): The mountain hut does not accept card payments—bring cash for food/drinks at the Jocheralm.
• Layers & Rain Gear: Dress according to the weather forecast.
• Swimwear & Towel: Optional for those who want to swim in Walchensee!

Our event is a welcoming, low-pressure gathering! We'll stick together as a group, ensuring that no one is left behind. Whether you're an experienced hiker or tackling your first alpine peak, a supportive atmosphere awaits you.

Space is limited for a manageable group on the trail, so please only RSVP if you can attend. A little rain won't deter us—we’ll hit the trail unless safety becomes a concern.
