Each piece is a unique collage, incorporating diverse materials such as paints, beads, and fragments of Black bodies, enriched with gold leaf and glitter. The result is a stunning act of photomontage that invites discussion about citizenship, identity, and the power of imagery.
The book also features archival images from Guyana and New York, alongside self-portraits and personal photographs, alongside transcriptions of heartfelt conversations. These works challenge conventional narratives while delving deep into themes of diaspora and memory.
