La Huella — the footprint, the trace, the mark left behind by those who lived the culture of tango before us and were never given their place in history. This weekend we follow their steps.

Transcend Tango invites you into a two-day celebration of tango's hidden histories, living culture, and moving bodies. This is a queer-centered event, but allies are warmly welcomed!

Saturday:

• 3pm-5pm: Book Reading & Conversation — The Gods of Tango
  Join us for an intimate reading with queer Uruguayan author Caro De Robertis, whose celebrated novel navigates gender identity and queer sexuality in the rich landscape of 1910's Buenos Aires. A story of identity, survival, passion, and belonging — followed by a Q&A.

• 5pm-6pm: Coffee/Tea break with yummy snacks and music 🎉
• 6pm-7:30pm: Tango Orchestras Workshop by LA FABULOSA MADELEINE
  Dive deep into the music that makes tango breathe. This workshop explores the history, sound, and soul of tango orchestras — from the golden age to today, enriching dancers and music lovers alike.
  How can we as queer tango dancers enjoy tango music as deeply as possible?
• 7:30pm-10:30pm: Milonga with DJCRESPO, featuring a special drag performance by PREITY!
  Preity expresses their emotions through tango, flamenco, and Indian traditional dance forms, bringing tango stories to life.

• 3pm-5pm: Film Screening (US Premiere!) — Disitango + Q&A
  Join us for a screening of this evocative short film, followed by an open conversation about tango's evolving queer identity, from the streets of Buenos Aires to stages around the world.

• 5pm-6pm: Coffee/Tea break with yummy snacks and music 🎶
• 6pm-7pm: Tango Conditioning Class by CARRIE FIELD.
  Prepare your body for long nights of dancing tango with exercises designed to prevent injury and increase comfort as a dancer. All levels welcome, no tango experience necessary.
• 7pm-10pm: Milonga with DJ KAREN JOHNSON from Philly!
