Maker Basics: Soldering & Electronics
Curious about circuits? 🤔
Whether you're keen on repairing devices, diving into hobby electronics projects, or using microcontrollers like Arduino to connect code with hardware, our Maker Basics: Soldering & Electronics session offers the hands-on foundation you need to embark on your journey.
In just two hours, you can explore various topics based on your interests:
- How to solder confidently using both through-hole and surface-mount techniques 🔧
- An overview of electronic components and their applications 📦
- How to operate common electronics equipment such as a multimeter, breadboard, and bench power supply 🧰
- An introduction to microcontrollers and mini-computers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, or Raspberry Pi 5) 💻
⚠️ Important Note: This workshop focuses on basic tools and techniques, designed to get your hands on the tools rather than complete a project. You won't finish your project here, but you'll gain the skills to continue on your own!
⚠️ Safety Reminder: Some of the machinery in the FabLab can be dangerous. All participants are required to sign a liability waiver before attending.
