Mary Strand began her musical journey by recording her first solo album in 2022-23, collaborating with her two talented guitar teachers, Ryan Smith (of Soul Asylum, UltraBomb, and The Melismatics) and Mark Wade (also with The Melismatics and The Mood Swings), along with her son, Jack Strand, on drums. The band showcases a unique blend of Mary’s original songs and the occasional cover of tracks she wishes she had penned herself. 🎤🎶
Her upcoming second album is set to release in 2025, featuring collaborations with Ryan and Mark. Plus, a Christmas rock album is in the works for 2026, with the fabulous Peter Anderson taking over on drums and Terry Isachsen stepping in on lead guitar for this special performance! 🎄🥁
Mary's music is a thrilling mix of rock, garage rock, punk rock, and power pop, deeply influenced by the iconic Joan Jett, while embracing all styles of rock and pop.
