Join us for Material Circle, an open and intimate conversation hosted by THIS IS US, where we delve into the fascinating stories that materials carry. ✨

Inspired by rich oral storytelling traditions, our selected speakers will share their personal, cultural, and creative reflections on a variety of materials including cotton, raffia, indigo, clay, hibiscus, wood, beads, dye plants, and more. 🌿

🧳 What to Bring

We encourage you to come prepared to share informally for about 4–5 minutes. You might focus on one material, memory, or object. Feel free to bring:

• A short story about a material you use.
• A personal memory linked to a material.
• Questions you are curious about in relation to a material.
• A physical object, sample, or image that connects you.

🤔 Conversation Prompts

• What material speaks to you?
• How did you first encounter it?
• Where does it come from and what does it reveal?
• What memories does this material evoke for you?

This is a chance to reflect and share in a thoughtful environment. No formal speech necessary! Let’s gather and exchange stories that honor the connection between materials, people, and memories. 🌟
