Get ready for an exceptional night! Minami Deutsch, a krautrock sensation hailing from Tokyo, Japan, is set to light up Plan B in Malmö. This band, known as self-proclaimed “repetition freaks,” draws inspiration from genres like psychedelic rock and minimal techno, with a deep-rooted passion for krautrock—evident from their name, which means “South Germany.”

Founded by Kyotaro Miula in 2014, Minami Deutsch started its journey performing live on the vibrant streets of Tokyo. Since then, they have released three albums through the local friend’s label, Guruguru Brain. Their mesmerizing, motorik-driven sound has captivated audiences across Europe and America, sharing stages with legends such as Damo Suzuki, the former vocalist of the iconic krautrock band CAN.

Their latest studio album, Fortune Goodies (2022), delves deep into the rich legacy of krautrock, showcasing Miula's evolved musical perspective after moving from Tokyo to Berlin. This album offers a uniquely Japanese lens on the encyclopedia of krautrock.

In 2024, Minami Deutsch completed two North American tours, including supporting Earthless and gracing the stage at the Levitation Festival, solidifying their status as a leading voice in the realms of modern kraut and psychedelic music.
