Modular Kabelbunker
This event showcases artists from the US and Italy who are visiting for the synthesizer fair, Superbooth, as well as two berlin-based artists.
Metamyther, from New York City, explores the union of cinematic and industrial music, injecting the three-movement structure prevalent in classical sonatas with contemporary electronic timbres.
Keven Onur Żłobnicki creates a visceral and unpredictable landscape of 'bent-by-design' electronics, where self-generating feedback loops and chaotic analog textures collide to form a dystopian soundtrack of industrial noise and abrasive, algorithmic beauty. He is the founder and designer of the Chicago-based Eurorack modular synthesizer company, Żłob Modular.
Since the turn of the century, Wang inc. has developed his improvisation techniques using sequencers, modular synths, drum machines, sax, and samplers. His sound is always distinctive, featuring a dark and bleak ambience. Whether it be slow techno, noise, or ambient, he always starts from a blank canvas.
Tetch focuses on modular synthesis and sound design, bringing the listener into a dark and hypnotic ambience with roaring basses, distorted synth lines, and heavy percussion.
Schmerzpunkt is a Berlin-based duo weaponising analogue synthesis to forge noisy, high-intensity grooves driven by punk energy and tearing vocals. Drawing from power electronics, noise, and electro-industrial, their sound shifts between punishing rhythm and destabilised, distorted chaos. A fractured dialogue between rhythm and rupture, always on the edge of collapse.
