Join us in discovering easy and effective ways to support Monarch butterflies right in your own backyard! In this engaging workshop, we will delve into:

• The incredible life cycle of Monarch butterflies
• Their amazing migration journey
• The conservation challenges they face
• The vital role of native plants in supporting Monarchs and other pollinators.

Participants will have a hands-on activity where they will:
Build their own puddling station to take home! 🌧️
Puddling stations provide butterflies with a safe spot to gather moisture and essential minerals that nectar alone cannot provide, while also offering bees a shallow water source. Using natural materials, you'll create a beautiful and functional garden addition that supports pollinators throughout the growing season.

You will leave with practical knowledge about supporting Monarchs, ideas for creating pollinator-friendly habitats, and your very own puddling station ready to enjoy at home! 🏡✨
This workshop is perfect for gardeners, native plant enthusiasts, and anyone eager to help Monarch butterflies and other pollinators thrive.

About the Facilitator

Kym Martin is a certified Master Gardener and dedicated conservationist from Chattanooga, Tennessee. With over seven years of experience, she works diligently to protect Monarch butterflies through education, habitat restoration, and community science. Kym currently leads the restoration of a two-acre Monarch Waystation at Reflection Riding Nature Center, where she combines hands-on experience with public outreach. She is passionate about helping others create pollinator-friendly spaces using native plants and practices that can easily be adopted at home.
