Monastery, established in Zalaegerszeg in 1989, is credited with releasing Hungary's first official death metal album, Far from Christ. After a hiatus, they made a strong comeback in 2021 with their EP Chimera and subsequent album Divine Damnation. Their latest album, From Blood, was released on September 22, 2023, through Art Gates Records.
