Erin Dubois invites you to delve into the sounds of the Revolutionary era, from the fifes and drums that guided troops in battle to the songs and dances enjoyed in homes, taverns, and community gatherings.

🗣️ Through historical context and musical examples, this talk illustrates how music served essential practical, social, and political roles during the fight for independence, enhancing morale, fortifying community ties, and expressing the aspirations and tensions of a nation in the making.

🎵 About Erin Dubois: A talented flutist and educator based on New Hampshire’s Seacoast, Erin serves as General Manager of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra, where she performs as the orchestra’s piccoloist and second flutist. She teaches Woodwind Methods at the University of New Hampshire, is an instructor at Concord Community Music School, and regularly performs throughout New England.
